MOT CHECKS / AWARENESS OF PRACTICES

If we are to carry out an mot collection and delivery

Please make sure the car is empty of items and semi clean so the mot station can check the vehicle correctly.

They can refuse to test the vehicle if they cannot access all the components on the list below or if its unhealthily unclean.

  • interior checks - all seats and belts
  • exterior checks
  • under the bonnet checks
  • under the vehicle checks
  • emissions checks
  • brake test checks

Please make us aware prior to collect if the vehicle has any issues that may impact the mot test such as:

  • poor running / drivability problems
  • warning lights on
  • poor starting
  • doors won’t open
  • bonnet won’t open

and so on....

This will help us give the best service possible and make sure everything runs smoothly on the day.

ESTABLISH BEST POINT OF CONTACT

On the day / week of the repair please make sure we have all your best contact details / ways to contact you. It may seem a small thing but on the day of the repair if we can’t get hold of you on the phone or email and there’s a problem such as: we need to order parts to get your vehicle repaired asap, without point of contact we cannot authorise any repairs without your permission. At our busiest times we can be booking up to 3 weeks in advance and it is a first come first served basis. if you are unavailable to authorise work we may not be able to guarantee a quick placement back in the queue due to volume of work.

THE DROP CAR

Most of the time we will leave a drop car with you while we repair yours and swap them back over on completion of the job.

You do not have to make sure the drop car is safe as it is fully insured and can look after itself. Its is solely our responsibility as is left at our own risk. Just to put your mind at peace.

PAYMENTS

We take all major bank cards or cash on delivery of vehicle whichever you prefer. We do not take bank transfer as its too difficult to check the payments have gone through on the day due to volume of work / accessing bank information.

All bills need to be paid prior or at point of return before we can hand you back the car and key.

On certain occasions you may be asked to pay upfront for the parts if they are a special order or an item that is non-returnable / refundable from the parts supplier. This is more common now due to shortage of parts and certain parts are made to order based on the volume of orders required.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

If there is any additional information we need to know about you or the car on the day to assure best service or practice then please make us aware. It is our job to help you and make sure your car gets back on the road as quickly and safely as possible.
